By 1868 at the latest, some modernizations had been completed: frame tube for "maintenance-free" rocker arm (click 45), transition steering column spindle to steering coupling by square,.... The amendment footnotes are type-related and often listed in the individual part texts. By replacing them in subsequent maintenance years, the tie rods were modernized, cotter pin securing was omitted and clamping part nuts were inserted. In the case of combinations of different generations of individual parts, compatibility (crown nut height) must always be checked. In addition, tie rods are reversible, so that the position of the right-hand thread joint is a coincidence when purchased individually (usually on the wheel side). We therefore recommend the purchase of complete tie rods. The servo equipment has no influence on the tie rod arrangement, but on the lower part of the steering spindle. Steering stop (limit) is done on the steering knuckles when assembled correctly, not through the steering gear or the steering damper: for center adjustment screws, see steering gear assembly.
